Henderson enjoyed a successful 2020/21 campaign with United as he managed to tussle David de Gea for the no.1 role.

Both Henderson and De Gea switched roles occasionally through the season, with the latter getting the nod during the Europa League final which the Red Devils went on to lose against Villarreal.

At the international level, Henderson still has to contend with competition from Sam Johnstone and Jordan Pickford in the race to be England's first-choice goalkeeper.

However, while Mourinho admits the United goalie is not a finished product just yet, he has backed him to be phenomenal soon.

“I think they [England’s trio] are good goalkeepers. I don’t think they are phenomenal goalkeepers or, in Dean Henderson’s case, not yet phenomenal. When I say not yet, I say he will be," Mourinho told The Times.
“I met him at [Manchester] United when he was a kid and I always remember him asking me to go on loan. He was saying when I come back, I come back to be the No 1. He told me that when he was the fourth choice. He is a kid with incredible self-confidence and I think he is ready," he added.

Henderson is yet to feature in either of the Three Lions' warm-up friendlies, with Pickford currently preferred.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Manchester United star Donny van de Beek has been ruled out of Holland's campaign for the EURO 2020 championship due to the injury he suffered in heartbreaking moment.

Holland's coaching crew have been hoping that Donny van de Beek would recover in time for the tournament, but it has now been confirmed that the former Ajax star will not be available.

According to the report on Independent and GOAL, Frank De Boer who is the coach of the Holland national team has made it clear that he won't call any replacement for injured Donny van de Beek.
