Chelsea stars Timo Werner as well as Kai Havertz inspired Germany to a 7-1 rout of Latvia in their final friendly game before Euro 2020 kicks off, Chelsea FC reports.
Making his 39th international appearance, Werner grabbed his 16th goal on the night while Havertz was directly involved in three goals helping the Germans to a convincing victory.
It was their final friendly match ahead of the start of Euro 2020 and they entertained about 1000 fans who were allowed into the stadium in Dusseldorf.
The first half saw Havertz playing the commanding role for Germany as he set up the first goal converted by Atalanta wing-back Robin Gosens in the 19th minute.
Moments later, the Chelsea forward supplied another brilliant pass for Ilkay Gundogan who grabbed the second on the night before Thomas Muller made it 3-0 in the 27th minute.
The Germans got four more goals in what was a one-sided affair before Manuel Neuer was eventually beaten with 15 minutes left on the clock.
Germany, with this big victory under their belt, begin their Euro 2020 campaign next Tuesday against France.
Meanwhile, Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has joined Paul Pogba to brand N'golo Kante as a cheat despite the midfielder's simple life.
The former Leicester man played an important role as the Blues claim their second Champions League title under Thomas Tuchel last season.
Kai Havertz scored the only goal that ensured the Blues rule Europe for the second time in their history after beating Manchester City 1-0 in the final of the competition.
