Adam Ro: Musician Now Making It in US Says Being Ghanaian Was a Setback

Rashid Rauf Adam, a Ghanaian musician originally from Ashaiman who is now making it big in the United States of America, has disclosed that being from Ghana made his career more challenging.

Narrating exclusively to Legit.ng, Adam Ro, as he is popularly called, said he had all it took and was ready to persevere and these helped him a lot on the journey.

According to Adam, he had to work extra hard in order to be able to grow enough confidence in the music industry in America.

“Entering the music industry when there were already big names was not a very easy task. Fortunately, I always had what it takes and it helped me persevere in the industry. Being from Ghana was not a plus point for me for a huge number of years. It took years of hard work to build the confidence that I have today," he shared.

Back in 2016, Adam Ro released the song African Story, which he tells Legit.ng, was received very well by not only African audiences but also people from the west.

"I can say that it was the time when people really got to understand my style of music and what it actually meant,” Adam Ro added.

According to the US-based artiste, his ability to sing in Dendi and Hausa, which are his native languages as well as his fluency in English and Twi made him gain great recognition in America.

Since the pandemic hit, Adam Ro has been releasing more music through streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, and Youtube.

His most recent works are Higher Man, Mix, Africa Woman, and Schoolyard Crush.

In other news, Legit.ng reported that a Nigerian prophet got many praying on social media after a prophecy he gave on singer Davido.

A video showing the prophet with a mic was spotted on social media as he revealed Davido will land in the hospital after being poisoned.

The man of God who claimed he did not know the singer said he's been dealing with the prophecy in prayers but God said it will happen.
