Ola Aina's goal for Fulham against West Brom is officially now a contender for the 2020-21 Premier League Goal of the Season, Complete Sports, Twitter.

The Nigerian international hit a long range strike from 25-yards out at Craven Cottage as he put his team in the lead.

The 24-year-old hit the shot with his weaker-foot which flew past goalkeeper Sam Johnstone in goal as it won the best strike scored in November.

There are eight other players competing for the award which includes Man United pair of Bruno Fernandes and Edinson Cavani, Mohamed Salah, James Maddison, Erik Lamela, Manuel Lazini, Jesse Lingard and Sebastien Haller.

Fans of the Premier League will vote for the winner combined with those of a panel of football experts to decide who comes out tops.

Aina will be returning to his Serie A club Torino after Fulham were relegated into the Championships in just their first season of returning.

The Super Eagles wing-back has also pulled out of the international friendly between Nigeria and Cameroon on June 2, in Austria.

The former Chelsea academy product is believed to be nursing a nagging injury and does not want to aggravate the healing process.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Nigeria vs Cameroon international friendly game has taken another turn as six out of nine defenders have withdrawn from the encounter slated for Friday, June 4, 2021, in Austria, The Cable.

The likes of Ola Aina, Zaidu Sanusi, Tyronne Ebuehi, Semi Ajayi, and Valentine Ozornwafor have all pulled out due to respective injury problems.

The number of players out of the fixture has now risen to eight, six of them are defenders with just three left in the squad.

With only 18 players left out of the 24-man squad to execute the game against the Indomitable Lions, Super Eagles handler Gernot Rohr told ESPN:
