Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state on Tuesday, June 1, admitted that he has in his wife, Edith, all that any right-thinking man will ever desire in a woman.

In a Twitter post on Tuesday, Okowa said his wife has been a true companion through rosy and dark times.

The Delta governor made these lovely remarks about the state's first lady as she turns 60 years of age.

Okowa approves full autonomy for Delta state judiciary

Meanwhile, Okowa on Tuesday, May 18, disclosed that the state's judiciary had been accorded full autonomy in line with the law signed back in January 2021.

The governor revealed this good news during his reception of Justice Marshal Umukoro, the chief judge of the state, at Government House in Asaba.

In a statement made available to Legit.ng, he noted that with the setting up of the relevant committees by Justice Umukoro, the state is set to begin the process of implementing full autonomy for the judiciary.

Governor Okowa made it known that the state House of Assembly for the past two years has been enjoying autonomy.

Speaking further, Okowa mentioned that one of the implications of the commencement of this process is that the chief judge has the authority to make his own direct approvals without necessarily resorting to him.
