Top European Club Rejects N1.8bn Offer For The Services Of Super Eagles Midfielder

- The Scottish champions are understood to be requesting for up to triple the amount for the Super Eagles midfielder

Joe Aribo has been targeted by Turkish Super Lig side Galatasary and their offer has been turned down by Scottish champions Glasgow Rangers, Soccernet, Fotospor.

The Nigerian international had a fantastic season with Rangers as they won the the Scottish Premier League with losing a single match in the league.

The Gers also made it as far as the Europa League round of 16 where they knocked out by quarter finalist Sparta Prague.

Aribo drew Galatasary's attention last campaign with his eight goals and made four assists in all competitions last season.

However, it is understood Rangers would listen to offers around €10million and Galatasary who finished second in the Super Lig behind Besiktas, are not willing to pay such an amount.

And the 24-year-old attacking midfielder is not willing to leave the club unless a Premier league club comes calling.

Aribo will be competing for Rangers in next season's Champions League and he will be looking to be at his best at the biggest club competition in football.

The creative midfielder who broke into the Super Eagles late 2019 has cemented his place in the national team under Gernot Rohr.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Yakubu Aiyegbeni's exploits in the Premier League has not been forgotten as the legendary Nigerian striker was ranked 38th among the 50 great strikers in the English topflight division, Sport Bible, 90min.

The former Super Eagles forward pulled the strings when he joined helped Portsmouth gain promotion in the Premier League and scored 14 goals in his first season at topflight level.

After two seasons at Frampton Park he joined Middlesbrough and continued from where he stopped with 13 league goals.

Aiyegbeni joined Everton in 2007 for a record fee of £11.25million making him the club's most expensive player and scored 15 goals in his first campaign for the Goodison Park outfit.
