The development comes just days after it emerged Hazard is considering a sensational return to Stamford Bridge following his tumultuous spell at Real Madrid.

It was reported exploring the option of a reunion at the west London club, nearly two years after he left.

Hazard dumped the Blues in the summer of 2019 to seal a dream move to Real Madrid where he has failed to live up to his hype.

Multiple injuries have taken a toll on his career at Madrid, and have been limited him to just 10 starts in La Liga this season.

According to Spanish television show El Chiringuito de Jugones, the Belgian has set his sights on a possible return to Chelsea.

Metro UK now reports Chelsea have been put on red alert over Hazard's desire to rejoin them during the summer transfer window.

However, the publication, while citing Sunday World, claimed the Belgian's possible return is not considered a priority by Chelsea chiefs who are exploring the possibility of signing a world-class forward instead.

It is understood Thomas Tuchel is keen on landing a centre-forward who can rival Timo Werner up front following the German's struggles in front of goal.

Borussia Dortmund hotshot Erling Haaland and Inter Milan's Romelu Lukaku are said to have been put on the Blues' wishlist.

Lukaku played a central role in Inter's first Serie A title since 2010, helping them end Juve's dominance in the Italian league.

Inter are thought to be keen to cut their wage bill significantly and raise close to £90million in player sales by the end of the summer window.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Chelsea are prepared to offload Callum Hudson-Odoi ahead of the summer transfer window.

Hudson-Odoi has struggled for game time under Thomas Tuchel, making just 10 starts in all competitions this season.

The youngster is desperate for regular first-team football, but this is unlikely to come by at Stamford Bridge given Tuchel has a wide range of options to select from.
