Nigerian winger Henry Onyekuru may have found the perfect way to pay respect to his late mother who died on April 7, 2021.

The 23-year-old attacker is still emotional due to the death of the woman he shared a bond with since he was born a couple of decades ago.

He has now splashed millions on the glittering piece of diamond-plated jewelry from a store with the inscription 'Mum' on the pendant.

This will however help him carry the memory of his late mother everywhere he goes and for as long as he keeps wearing the accessory.

The former Everton star spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Turkish topflight side, Galatasaray, scoring five goals and five assists in 19 appearances for them.

However, his performances in Faraway Turkey aren't enough to earn him a spot in coach Gernot Rohr's 24-man revised list for the international friendly against Cameroon.

Despite breaking into the Super Eagles squad in 2017, the attacker has only played 11 games for his country in all competitions with just one goal credited to his name.

Though he was part of the team that won the bronze medal at the 2019 AFCON championship in Egypt, he was not a regular in coach Gernot Rohr's squad with the likes of Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze and a few others preferred over him.

Legit.ng earlier reported that the Nigerian Football Federation has commiserated with Super Eagles star Henry Onyekuru and his family over the demise of his mother who has passed on.
