Cristiano Ronaldo had taken to his official Instagram page to thank fans of Italian giants Juventus for their support at the just concluded 2020/21 season even though the Old Lady failed to retain their title.

Juventus were even on the verge of dropping out of the top four not until the final day thanks to Napoli who failed to get a win in their own match which gave Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates the Champions League ticket.

However, Inter Milan won the League title, but Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates at Juventus will be playing in the Champions League next season that is if the Portuguese stays.

While speaking on his performances last season, Cristiano Ronaldo explained that he is not a player who chases records, but the other way round which has been helping his career.

''I’ve already said that I don’t chase records, records chase me. For those who don't understand what I mean by this, it’s very simple: football is a collective game, but it is through individual overcoming that we help our teams achieve their goals.
''It is always looking for more and more on the field, working more and more off the field, that records eventually emerge and collective titles become inevitable, some being the natural consequence of the other.''

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Dolores Aveiro, the mother of Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo, disclosed that she will convince her son to return to his boyhood club Sporting CP in Portugal.

There are concerns over the future of the 36-year-old at Juventus, even though he still has until 2022 on his current contract with the Turin based side.

But his mother has stated that she will be able to convince him to return to Sporting where he developed his career scoring 3 goals before his move to Manchester United.

It was gathered that Ronaldo has acquired a home in the Lisbon area not too far from the Estádio José Alvalade, the home ground of Sporting.

The 36-year-old still has a special love for Sporting and in 2019, the club's president, Frederico Varandas, talked up the possibility of renaming their stadium after him.
