Robert Lewandowski scored 41 goals in Bundesliga to break the long standing record of Gerd Muller who netted 40 in the 1971-72 season, Twitter.

The Bayern Munich striker also emerged as the topscorer in Europe with his closest rival Lionel Messi scoring 30 and Cristiano Ronaldo netting 29 goals respectively.

Paris Saint-Germain Kylian Mbappe netted 27 in Ligue 1 while Tottenham's Harry Kane emerged topscorer at the just concluded English Premier League.

The Poland forward grabbed in his 41st goal in Bayern's final day victory to 5-2 win over Augsburg.

Lewandowski finished as the highest goalscorer in the German topflight division for the fourth consecutive season helping lift the league trophy on those four occasions.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Man of the moment Robert Lewandowski who plays for Bayern Munich has broken Gerd Muller’s 49-year-old record in the German Bundesliga after scoring for his side on Saturday night, May 22.
