Luis Suarez helped Atletico Madrid win La Liga title following their final day win against Real Valladolid and the Uruguayan striker has aimed at dig at his former club Barcelona, Mirror.

The 33-year-old was in tears as he granted a post-match interview where he expressed rejection following his sale from the Camp Nou outfit.

He said:

"Barca didn't value me and Atletico opened their doors for me. I will always be grateful to this club for trusting in me."

After the interview, Suarez was still emotional as he sat on the pitch and made a video call to his family.

The former Liverpool striker scored the winner in the second half after Angel Correa brought Atletico back on level terms.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Atletico Madrid won their 11th La Liga title following their 2-1 comeback win against Real Valladolid who also got relegated from the Spanish topflight division.

The Rojiblancos won their third league title under their manager Diego Simeone but had to wait until the last matchday to confirm their status as champions of Spain.

Real Madrid also came back from a goal down to defeat Villarreal 2-1 but it was not enough to confirm Los Blancos to retain their title.
