Sultan speaks about possibility of another war in Nigeria

Mohammed said:

''While it is alright for citizens to call for restructuring and true federalism, what is not acceptable is the call in certain quarters for secession.
“Whatever challenges we have today as a nation, can and will be surmounted. In fact, the Federal Government had set in motion the necessary machinery to tackle the challenge of insecurity.
“We should therefore not allow today’s challenges, whether in the area of economy or security, to jeopardise our unity.''

Meanwhile, the governor of Plateau, Simon Lalong, has described the act of tagging particular tribes in Nigeria as being criminal in nature as divisive and detrimental to national growth.

Governor Lalong in a statement issued on Wednesday, May 19, noted that for peace and unity to reign, the trend of profiling of criminals along ethnic, religious, and political lines must be eschewed.

VON reported that in the governor's view since Nigeria is diverse with people of different backgrounds, it will always be unfair to see any tribe through the lens of ethnic prejudice.
