Arsenal Legend Becomes 6th Star Inducted Into Premier League's Hall Of Fame

- Dennis Bergkamp has earned a place as one of the most prolific players in Premier League's history

- The former Netherlands international was the sixth man inducted into the English topflight's division Hall of Fame

- The 52-year-old spent 11 seasons with Gunners scoring 87 goals in 314 appearances under the tutelage of Arsene Wenger

Dennis Bergkamp is the latest inductee into the Premier League Hall of fame following the likes of Roy Keane, Frank Lampard, Alan Shearer, Eric Cantona and Thierry Henry, Daily Star.

The former Dutch international played a major role in Arsene Wenger's three Premier League titles during his 11-year spell with Arsenal.

The 52-year-old has been fondly remembered for two great goals he scored against Newcastle which was voted the best in the first 25 years of the Premier League.

And the other against Leicester City, where he mesmerized a defender and finally bagged a hat-trick in the their famous win at Filbert street.

The Netherlands icon said receiving the top-flight's most prestigious individual honour:

"It feels special to be part of a small group of players who got the recognition of playing in the strongest league in the world.
"I’m extremely proud if people say that I was one of the first foreign players who added something to the English game.

"The Premier League most definitely made me a better player. From the moment I arrived in England I’ve embraced the English mentality and passion for football, it suited me and my style of play."

Bergkamp scored 87 goals and provided 94 assists in 315 topflight appearances for the north London club.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Mikel Arteta has admitted that David Luiz's proposed departure from Arsenal at the end of the season is inevitable.

The Brazilian center-back's contract will expire when the Gunners play their final Premier League game of the season against Brighton at the Emirates.

Luiz joined the north London club from Chelsea in the 2019-20 season and had his contracted extended during the lockdown periods.

And Arteta has confessed that it was in the best interest of both the 34-year-old and club not renew his deal.
