Antonio Rudiger has explained that himself and Chelsea teammates were were angry with how Leicester City star Daniel Amartey disrespected the club and they had to pay the Foxes back in the Premier League.
Chelsea produced stunning performance on Tuesday night, May 18, beating Leicester City 2-1 in a Premier League tie with Kelechi Iheanacho scoring for the Foxes.
The Blues went into this encounter with aggressive minds having lost the FA Cup final against Brendan Rodgers' side and were looking for redemption.
According to the report on Standard UK, Antonio Rudiger explained that Leicester City's celebration in the dressing room after the FA Cup win did not go well with Chelsea.
“We wanted to show to them because top four was on the line and unfortunately some people from them don’t know how to celebrate. We had to punish them for this.
“After we lost the final we talked with each other, that it’s a massive game coming up and we are on it. Some people from them gave us a bit more motivation.
“Congratulations to them, they won, celebrate and everything. But don’t disrespect club history. This is a bit bigger than you.”
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Daniel Amartey who currently plays for Leicester City in the Premier League could be landing himself in some trouble after being caught throwing Chelsea's pennant on the floor.
This happened after his side defeated the Stamford Bridge landlords in the final of the 2020/21 FA Cup which was played at the Wembley Stadium.
Club pennants are traditionally swapped before a game to mark the occasions while they are kept as souvenirs to remember the event.
Win over Chelsea was an historical one for Leicester City considering the fact that the Foxes have never won the title before in their history.
