Bad News for Chelsea As Top Man City Star Return Ahead of Champions League Clash

Kevin de Bruyne appears to have handed Manchester City a boost ahead of their Champions League clash against Chelsea later this month.

The Belgian star took part in the Citizens' training earlier this week, thereby ruling out speculations that he will miss the highly important encounter.

He has been out of the Citizens squad for the past two games due to a muscle setback but could taste action when they face Brighton and Hove Albion on Tuesday, May 18.

Meanwhile, he has also been named in the Belgium squad for the 2020 Euro Championship staging this summer.

His manager Pep Guardiola has however expressed excitement seeing one of his key players train with the rest of the team, adding that staying together might help them conquer Europe this time.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola who recently won his third Premier League title said in his news conference as reported by Goal:

"Kevin has trained the last two days and he feels good. Kevin is important like everyone. When we are able to stick together and push each other, it will be possible to win [the Champions League]. Everyone is on the same level. We’ll see what his level is, he’s fit and ready to play."

De Bruyne has scored nine goals and assisted 17 others in 38 appearances so far this season and apart from winning the EPL and the EFL Cup, he could also win his first UCL this season.
