Zinedine Zidane has distanced himself from the reports linking him to an exit from Real Madrid this summer.

The Frenchman made the comment after Los Blancos' 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao at San Mames over the weekend with Nacho Fernandez scoring the only goal.

This however means that the title race will be decided on the final day as Real are two points behind table-toppers Atletico Madrid who have 83.

While Zidane's men play host to Villarreal on matchday 38, Diego Simeone's side will battle it out with Real Valladolid simultaneously on Saturday, May 22. Both of them are hoping to end up with the title.

The former midfielder insisted that he never told his players anything of such adding that focusing on winning the silverware remains their priority as reported by Daily Mail.

"How could I tell the players I'm leaving now? We're giving our everything for the title and I just say 'by the way, I'm off. People outside the club can say whatever they like, but I would never, ever say that to my players."

If he leaves, this will be the second time Zidane will be walking away from the club only that his first departure was on the back of his three consecutive Champions League triumphs between 2016 and 2018. He added that:

"At the end of the season then we'll see what happens, but right now we're focused on our final game. We can't just keep talking about my future. The last game of the season is far more important than that."

Legit.ng earlier reported that Real Madrid have listed former manager Carlo Ancelotti as a possible replacement for Zinedine Zidane this summer.

The Frenchman's deal with Los Blancos was due in 2020 but he is considering walking away from the club at the end of this season.

However, some close pals claim the 48-year-old won't know where his future lies until after the final Spanish League game against Villarreal on May 23.
