Argentina international Sergio Aguero has been linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona where he would have the chance to play with his close friend Lionel Messi.

The super striker announced last month that he will be leaving Manchester City at the end of the season, and his teammates have given him a nice gift by winning the Premier League title.

Manchester City are also in the final of the Champions League where they will face fellow Premier League campaigners Chelsea.

According to the report on UK Sun, Sergio Aguero has already discussed with Barcelona chiefs over a move to the Camp Nou.

The report added that the Argentine may be forced into taking a £100,000-a-week cut from the £250,000-a-week wages he earns at the Etihad stadium.

This is because Barcelona are currently struggling financially and will not be able to pay what Manchester City is paying Sergio Aguero.

However, Sergio Aguero is currently focused on helping Manchester City to win the Champions League title when they meet the Blues later this month in what is expected to be a tough battle.

According to another report on Insidefutbol, Lionel Messi has given Barcelona chiefs a condition of signing Sergio Aguero for him to remain at the Camp Nou.

Messi's contract will expire at the end of the ongoing season and the Argentine has not signed or agreed new deal.

The Argentine had a chance to double the Citizens lead in the final moments of the opening half but he squandered the opportunity after trying to replicate Panneka's style of a penalty kick.

But Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy was up to the task as he casually saved the spot-kick in the final moment of the opening half.

This came about 240 seconds after Aguero gave the hosts the lead in the 44th minute at the Etihad Stadium.

City’s defeat ignited some criticism of Aguero, who was the major talking point in the game after his penalty miss.
