And despite not playing with his full squad, the Citizens dominated most parts of possession and took the lead through Raheem Sterling.

But that did not stop Chelsea from grabbing the winner through Marcos Alonso in the 92nd minute to give the Blues an emphatic 2-1 win.

City were also knocked out of the FA Cup semi finals by Chelsea and Guardiola knows his team have to wake up not to fall victim again to the west London club in the Champions League finals.

The Sky Blues will need to confirm their Premier League title if Leicester City beats Man United or they would have to confirm it by getting past Newcastle at St. James' Park.
