The European football governing body UEFA has stated that it will discuss with the UK government about the possibility of staging the Champions League final in London.

Premier League clubs Chelsea and Manchester City have reached the final of the Champions League originally billed to hold in Istanbul on May 29.

However, since restrictions will be relaxed on foreign travel by May 17, UEFA is considering to hold the final in Wembley Stadium.

It is expected that a decision will be made by Tuesday, May 11 whether the match will take place at the original venue in Ataturk, Istanbul or not.

The final play-off of the Championship is also scheduled to hold at the same venue on the same day, but UK government is reportedly considering moving it.

But the English Football League is understood to be open to moving that, as well as the League One and Two finals, in order to allow the all-English tie to be staged at Wembley later this month.

Meanwhile, players that make up the Manchester City first team could get as much as £1million each should they defeat Chelsea to win the Champions League final.

Pep Guardiola’s squad are on track to grab their share of about £15million as they also look good to winning a treble foe first time in their history.

High earners like Kevin de Bruyne have clauses in their respective contracts if they lift the coveted UEFA title.
