Eden Hazard has tendered a public apology to Real Madrid fans after being spotted laughing with Chelsea stars despite crashing out of the Champions League earlier this week.

Los Blancos were beaten 2-0 by their hosts courtesy of goals from Timo Werner and Kai Havertz in the second leg of their semifinal meeting.

After the game, the Belgian who could not help the La Liga outfit progress to the final of the competition was seen chatting and laughing with his former teammates.

The former Chelsea star has now apologised to Real supporters, saying he never intended to get them furious and insisted that he is focused on winning titles for the club according to his Instagram post.

"I am sorry. I have read lots of opinions about me today and it was not my intention to offend any Real Madrid fans.
"It has always been my dream to play for Real Madrid and I came here to win. The season is not over and together we must battle for La Liga! Hala Madrid!"

Zinedine Zidane's men will now focus on retaining their Spanish League title as they currently sit second on the log with 74 points after 34 games - the same as their rivals Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid top the table with 76 points and Sevilla are fourth with 70 points - meaning that the title race is far from over and it could swing anywhere.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Real Madrid star Eden Hazard was in high spirits despite his side being knocked out by Chelsea in the Champions League semi-finals on Wednesday, May 5.

Videos of the Belgian laughing and catching up with his former teammates at full time have surfaced online and it was quite a sight for many fans.

This was the first time Hazard returned to Stamford Bridge since a famous €100 million move to Real Madrid back in 2019.
