Both Cavani and Pogba are facing an uncertain future at Man United, with the pair yet to renew their current deals with the club.

Cavani, who joined United on a free transfer last summer has had a bright start to life with the Red Devils but remains to be the subject of transfer speculation ahead of the transfer window.

Pogba, on the other hand, has his contract with the Manchester club expiring at the end of next season, meaning United could lose him on a free should he fail to pen a new deal.

Fernandes, who has enjoyed a close partnership with the two both on and off the pitch has moved to urge them to consider staying at the Theatre of Dreams.

"We know they are really important for us," Fernandes said when pressed on how much he wants the two to remain at United.

Speaking ahead of his side's Europa League meeting with AS Roma, the midfielder underscored the duo's quality, adding they are "important" to the team.

"The qualities they have are difficult to find on the market for a good price," Fernandes noted.
"So I think everyone knows the team is growing up so it’s important we keep our best players and we keep improving the team," he continued.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Man United are yet to agree on a new deal with Pogba and they risk losing him on a free transfer at the end of next season, a situation which has forced the club to look elsewhere for alternatives.

It is believed West Ham United star Declan Rice is top on the Manchester club's priority list in their hunt for Pogba's replacement.

Man United are also thought to be keeping close tabs with Leicester City midfielder Wilfried Ndidi and Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez.

The development comes just weeks after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed he is keen to have Pogba form part of his long-term plans at Old Trafford.
