The Blues saw off Real Madrid in a hotly contested semi-final fixture to seal qualification for the penultimate game of the continental showpiece.

The Stamford Bridge-based side secured a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the tie played in Spain, before staging a masterclass at home winning 2-0 in the return leg on Wednesday, May 5, to progress.

Both Timo Werner and Mason Mount found the back of the net in either half of the meeting to help Chelsea sail through on a 3-1 goal aggregate.

The qualification sent millions of Blues faithful into a frenzy, with many taking to social media to celebrate the milestone.

Drogba, who enjoyed an illustrious career during his stay at the Bridge led the celebrations, with the Ivorian tweeting: "Let's goooooooooo. We are going to Istanbul my people."

Hundreds of his followers later joined in the conversation, as the tweet racked up more than 160,000 likes.

The legendary forward followed up the tweet with another video of him referencing the fact that Chelsea's women's side have also made it to the Champions League final where they will be playing Barcelona. He captioned the short clip:

"When both men and women, @ChelseaFCW, @ChelseaFC are in the Champions League final."

Drogba and millions of other Chelsea fans will now be hoping the side can get the better of Manchester City for a chance to lift the title in Istanbul.

City hammered Paris Saint-Germain in their own semi-final fixture to book a place in the final of the tournament for the first time in their history.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that following N’Golo Kante’s breathtaking performance in the second leg Champions League semifinal that saw Chelsea defeat Real Madrid 2-0, Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala has warned opponents not to steal the Frenchman’s ‘meat’.

Paired in the midfield alongside Jorginho in the 3-4-3 formation against Los Blancos, Kante put in a monstrous show in both halves of the highly tensed encounter.
