Real Madrid stay within touching distance of Atletico Madrid following their 2-0 win over Osasuna in La Liga.

Eder Militao and Casemiro's scored two second half goals to keep Los Blancos within two points of Diego Simeone's men at top of the league standings.

Eden Hazard was given a rare start since his return from injury and he was in dazzling form for Zinedine Zidane's men.

The Belgian immediately had one of his shots go slightly off target and his second had to be palmed away by Osasuna keeper Sergio Herrera.

Herrera was kept busy all through the night as he made two other fantastic saves from Militao's headers on goal.

Osasuna also had their moments in the first half as Thibaut Courtois was forced to make an acrobatic save from a cross.

The first goal of the match was finally scored in the 76th minute as Isco's corner-kick found Militao who headed home the ball to make it 1-0.

In the 86th minute, the ball went into the back of Osasuna's net again after Karim Benzema's through ball to Casemiro beat the keeper on an unintentional control from the Brazilian to make it 2-0.

Real will play Sevilla next while Atletico and Barcelona will lock horns at the Camp Nou. The result could put the Galaticos on the driving seat to reclaim the title.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Karim Benzema equalized for Real Madrid during their Champions League first leg semi-final clash against Chelsea but Spanish media and fans believe there was a foul in the build-up, Daily Mail.

They claim Carlos Casemiro's fouled Cesar Azpilicueta in his initial header where he climbed above the Blues captain before it got to Eder Militao and finally Benzema.

"Casemiro commits a foul on [Cesar] Azpilicueta before [Eder] Militao heads to [Karim] Benzema, who scores."
