AS Roma manager Paulo Fonseca has reserved special praises for Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes ahead of his side's Europa League meeting vs Man United.

Roma are due to take on United in the first leg of their semi-final tie on Thursday, April 29, at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils booked a date with the Italian side in the last four of the competition after seeing off Granada in the quarters.

Roma, on the other hand, had to get past Ajax to make it to the semi-finals having won 3-2 on aggregate against the Dutch club.

The Giallorossi head to Old Trafford as underdogs after their domestic form taking a nosedive in recent weeks.

United, meanwhile, have been perfect across competitions, having suffered just one defeat in 21 matches ahead of the Roma meeting.

The pair of Rashford and Fernandes has played an integral part in the Red Devils' stunning form, and Fonseca knows too well the threat the duo pose. He said via Metro:

"I think Rashford is an amazing, amazing player. He’s having a great, great season. But I think Man United as a whole team are strong.
"The main point is the character of Bruno. He’s a leader, he’s a fighter but he’s also a player with big quality and he’s very smart.

Speaking ahead of his side's trip to Manchester the Portuguese boss admitted he regards the clash as one of the biggest he has had to prepare for in his managerial career.

"To play a semi-final against Manchester United is maybe the biggest challenge in my career and European competitions."

The winner of this tie will meet whoever emerges victor in the other semi-final fixture pitting Arsenal and Villarreal.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester United failed to reduce the gap between them and rivals Man City after settling for a goalless draw with Leeds at Elland Road on Sunday, April 25.

United failed to build on their 3-0 hard-fought win over Burnley in their last Premier League outing to increase their slim hopes of winning the league.
