Premier League Legends Hail Karim Benzema After Becoming 4th Champions League Highest Goals Scorer in History

Real Madrid striker became the joint-fourth highest goals scorer in the Champions League after scoring in his side's 1-1 draw against Chelsea earlier this week.
The Frenchman's 29th minute overhead goal handed Los Blancos a lifeline ahead of their second leg in London after Christian Pulisic opened the scoring for the Blues earlier in the game.
His tally has now risen to 71 goals to equal legendary striker Raul's record while only Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Robert Lewandowski ahead of him on the goals chart.

The duo of Rio Ferdinand and Joe Cole have now showered encomiums on the 33-year-old for achieving the feat.

Ferdinand was quoted by Daily Mail while on duty for BT Sport for the game on Tuesday, April 27, saying:
"If he [Benzema] is in the Chelsea team today they win today and at Stamford Bridge (in next week's second leg). Complete striker. He has got all the basic fundamentals down to a tee. He is a top technician."
Meanwhile, Cole who was impressed with the attacker's display added:
"He [Benzema] has become a leader,' Cole said. 'He led the line. He was the bright spark in the first 30 minutes, the game was running away from them.
"It was an exquisite finish, on the turn - a top, top striker at the very best of his game. He celebrated to his mate (Sergio) Ramos (who was injured and watching from the stands).
"Chelsea need to keep him quiet in the second led because he is the difference-maker."
The Frenchman, 33, has been at Real Madrid since 2009 when he joined from French side Lyon and has won four Champions League titles with the Spanish giants.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Real Madrid had to fight back to salvage a draw for themselves against Chelsea in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final meeting at Angelo Di Stefano Stadium.
The Blues who have enjoyed stability under Thomas Tuchel got the game started on a bright note with Christian Pulisic scoring the opener in the 14th minute.
However, his early goal was cancelled by Karim Benzema's lovely effort one minute before the half-hour mark on Tuesday night, April 27, encounter.
