Arsenal legends Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira are reportedly working with Swedish billionaire Daniel Ek to buy the Premier League club.

The 38-year-old Spotify owner valued to be worth about £3.4 billion in 2021 expressed interest in buying the club after some supporters protested against the current owner Stan Kroenke.

This was as a result of him agreeing to be among the founding members of the proposed European Super League which has now died a natural death.

Meanwhile, Daily Mail quoting Daily Telegraph believes the Swedish entrepreneur contacted the former football stars to help him step up his takeover bid.

The publication further revealed that the former Gunners players could return to the club on official capacities if the takeover becomes a success.

Although Arsenal's current direct Josh Kroenke has insisted that his family will not sell, however, the inclusion of Henry and his teammates could further brighten the chances of the transition considering recent events.

Kroenke Jr sometime last week while speaking in a fans' forum defended the club's decision to join the European Super League. He told the supporters via Zoom that:

"Leadership is about recognising when you are wrong, correcting and apologising. We asked ourselves, what is worse: a Super League or a Super League without Arsenal? We also asked ourselves, what do the fans want?
"The global fan wants Arsenal against Barcelona as often as possible. English fans want to see more big matches, but you also still want your cold nights in Stoke. Now we need to build a bridge and we will."

Meanwhile, Henry while addressing the fans, said Arsenal are not the same as they were when he won two titles with them during his reign at the club. He won two Premier League titles and reached the Champions League final.

"This club belongs to the fans, I love the club and I will support the club until I die, but I do not recognise my club and what happened just now, with them trying to join a league that would have been closed, makes no sense to me. They have been running the club like a company, not a football club, and they showed their hand."

Chief executive Vinai Venkatesham has been attempting to build bridges with fans and other chairmen around the Premier League following the European Super League debacle last week.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Spotify founder Daniel Ek has expressed interest in buying Arsenal Football Club if owner Stan Kroenke decides to sell.

Ahead of Friday’s match against Everton, thousands of Arsenal fans gathered outside the Emirates Stadium in protest of how the club was being run.

Fans were angry with the club, largely due to their initial willingness to participate in the European Super League alongside five other Premier League clubs.
