Manchester City have won their first silverware of the 2020-21 season after beating Tottenham Hotspur to claim the EFL Cup title at Wembley Stadium on the evening of Sunday, April 25.
The Citizens have now won the title for the fourth consecutive period - equalling the record set by Liverpool in the 1980s.
Aymeric Laporte's powerful header in the closing stages of the clash was the only difference that separated the two sides as City marched to victory.
The Citizens, who were looking to retain the title had to stay put until the 82nd minute to get things done, having finished the first half scoreless.

They dominated proceedings from the blow of the whistle, with the half being pretty much one-sided as Pep Guardiola's men played some exhilarating football.
The Manchester club was a little unlucky not to go two or three up before the break, with Spurs' only threat in the half being Lucas Moura's run that was properly dealt with by City's solid defence.
Spurs almost took the lead at the start of the second half after Lucas Moura played a simple square pass to Lo Celso who opened his body to shape a lovely curling shot towards the far corner which Steffen dived a long way to his right to push it round the post.
Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez had double chances within a space of minutes but the pair fluffed their opportunities.
City finally broke the deadlock with just nine minutes left on the clock, with Laporte rising high to meet Kevin De Bruyne's cross from a free-kick to head home the all-important goal.
The goal was enough to help City retain the EFL Cup which they have now won for the fourth consecutive time.
They will now shift their focus to the Champions League where they are scheduled to play Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, April 28, in the first leg of their semi-final fixture.
