A reported attack by armed bandits in the Chukun local government area of Kaduna state has led to the death of eight people.

Channels TV reports that a medical doctor, Zakariah Dogo Yaro of the Kaduna state Ministry of Health was among those killed during the incident which happened on Sunday morning, April 25.

Some church members were also abducted by the bandits while several sustained injuries, according to Daily Trust.

The Kaduna state commissioner for internal security and home affairs, Samuel Aruwan, has confirmed the incident.

This tragic development is coming two weeks after bandits have killed eight people in separate incidents in Kajuru and Kachia local government areas of Kaduna state.

The Nation reports that 25 passengers, including 19 female members of the Anglican Church, were abducted during the attack along Kaduna-Kachia road

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that armed bandits shot three students of Greenfield University, who were abducted from their school premises.

The gunmen abducted the students during an attack on the private academic institution located along the Kaduna–Abuja highway in the Chikun local government area of the state on the night of Tuesday, April 20.

This was revealed in a statement by Aruwan, the Kaduna state commissioner for internal security, on Friday, April 23.

Similarly, the identities of the three Greenfield University students who were slain in captivity by bandits have been revealed.

One of the murdered students is Abubakar Sadiq Yusuf Sanga, the son of Malam Yusuf Mu’azu, a director of the state's ministry of works and a former chairman of Jemaa local government area.

Sadiq, in line with Islamic burial rites, was laid to rest on Friday, April 23, the same day he was killed.

The other two victims are Dorathy Yohanna and Precious Nwakacha (a native of Nnewi in Anambra state).
