UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has assured that all 12 clubs which announced a breakaway Super League will be punished severely, further branding three of the clubs 'Flat-Earthers'.

In his reaction, Ceferin also hinted that the so called ‘Bix Six’ Premier League teams might get reduced punishment for pulling out first.

Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool all withdrew from the competition following uproar by fans of the respective clubs.

Ceferin compared Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus to 'flat Earthers' after they tried to cling on to the idea of the Super League, even after Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and Inter Milan also pulled out.

He told Mail via Mirror:

"But for me it’s a clear difference between the English clubs and the other six.
"They pulled out first, they admitted they made a mistake. You have to have some greatness to say: 'I was wrong'.
"For me there are three groups of this 12 — the English Six, who went out first, then the other three [Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, Inter] after them and then the ones who feel that Earth is flat and they think the Super League still exists.”

Meanwhile, barely four days to their Champions league semifinal first-leg against Real Madrid, Chelsea’s Mateo Kovacic has reportedly suffered injury and could miss the encounter.

The 26-year-old has been a major player for the Blues since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, but may miss their next two crucial fixtures.

Chelsea take on West Ham on Saturday afternoon, April 24, in their quest to finish top four in the English topflight, and then they take on Real Madrid in the Champions League on April 27.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Jose Mourinho is understood to have met with Tottenham players after he was relieved of his duties as manager of the north London club.

According to The Telegraph, after holding a two-hour showdown with the club's management, the 58-year-old also had a four-hour talk with Spurs players before he finally left the premises.

The Special One was believed to have been ready to hold a training session with the players before the unexpected happened.
