Anxiety As UEFA Releases Huge Statement Over Champions League Semifinal Between Real Madrid and Chelsea

- UEFA will not sanction Chelsea and Real Madrid despite their involvement in the failed Super League

- Both teams will clash with eachother in the semifinal of this season’s Champions League

- Manchester City vs PSG tie will also not be affected according to Romano Fabrizio

The Champions League semifinals for this season will go ahead regularly according to reports, despite controversy in the last couple of days over European Super League.

The ESL had threatened the competition following involvement of Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester City who are still in the competition.

No fewer than 12 elite clubs earlier announced a breakaway competition which they named European Super League, in a bid to contend with the Champions League.

All 12 football clubs who announced their breakaway competition have all left their positions at the UEFA and the European Clubs Association (ECA).

The clubs consist of Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester United, Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and AC Milan.

Italian journalist Romano Fabrizio wrote that Champions League will go on as planned:

"Despite many fake news in the last days, UCL semifinals Real Madrid-Chelsea and Manchester City-PSG will go ahead regularly.
"UEA won’t ban any club for this season. The matches have never been suspended."

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho is understood to have met with Tottenham players after he was relieved of his duties as manager of the north London club.

According to The Telegraph, after holding a two-hour showdown with the club's management, the 58-year-old also had a four-hour talk with Spurs players before he finally left the premises.

The Special One was believed to have been ready to hold a training session with the players before the unexpected happened.

During his 17-month spell in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Mourinho fell out with players like England internationals Danny Rose and Dele Alli.

At one point in time, the Portuguese gaffer had issues with French midfielder Touquay Ndombele who was linked with a move out of the London club in the process.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Arsenal were among the six English clubs that joined the European Super League but all have withdrawn their interests and fans are now asking questions about owner Stan Kroenke's credibility.
