Amachree had told The Punch that the DSS communicated the minister’s past controversial views to the federal government and the legislature.

He said the minister must have sailed through the DSS and Senate screenings due to some political reasons and other factors.

However, a spokesman for the DSS, Peter Afunanya, described Amachree’s comments on national issues as his own personal opinion, Vanguard reported.

Afunanya stated that the former DSS director spoke for himself and not the organisation.

Afunanta said:

“The opinions expressed by Mr Dennis Amachree on sundry national security issues are his personal positions and do not in anyway represent the stand of the Service (the Department of State Services)”

The Nation reported that the DSS promised to collaborate with other security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property of the citizenry.

Meanwhile, the speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has said he did not block a motion demanding the dismissal of the minister of communications and digital economy, Isa Pantami.

The Cable reported that Gbajabiamila said on Thursday, April 22, that he only faulted the House minority leader, Ndudi Elumelu, for not following due process when he raised the matter.

The speaker said it was wrong for the lawmaker to have raised an external matter under privilege, which concerns issues that affect only lawmakers.

In another report, the president of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Reverend Samson Ayokunle, has urged relevant security agencies to investigate the recent allegations against the minister of communications and digital economy, Isa Ali Pantami.

Pantami has been under pressure to resign after his controversial Islamic teachings linking him to terror groups surfaced.

Speaking during a press conference at the Baptist International Conference Centre on Tuesday, April 20, Reverend Ayokunle prompted security agencies to act on the matter.
