Under a Facebook post tagging Adeyanju as an enemy of Islam, the minister wrote in Hausa

“Allah ya tsine masa albarika.”

meaning:

“May God destroy/ruin his blessings.”

The comment has since been deleted and no longer visible but Adeyanju shared a screenshot of the comment on his Twitter page.

Meanwhile, checks by Premium Times showed that the email address used to open the page isapantami@yahoo.com belongs to the minister.

The report also noted that an email address isaaliibrahim@hotmail.com provided for inquiries is also owned by the minister and is reflected on his profile on NOUN’s website.

Some Nigerians have been commenting on the controversy via social media.

Dire Adesanya wrote on Twitter:

“But he said his former teachings and interviews were when he was immature? Well, he is selling another "immature" narrative, his Facebook was hacked.”

Omam Bala wrote:

“A renounced, reformed, liberal Salafist issues a fatwa as a minister in a secular government. A referendum is a must, before a rehabilitated Boko Haram member becomes president.”

Pantami: Civil society group asks DSS to recommend minister's sack to Buhari

Nancy Ndu wrote:

“A leopard never changes its spot and if we don't use this platform to force this man called Pantami to resign and we have failed as Nigerians. This man needs to be getting it hot on his page.”

Cathy Katie wrote:

“What's going on in Nigeria? A serving minister saying such things. Yet he says he has changed. He just reinforced his terrorist tendencies.”

Raymond Okon wrote:

“This is the same man who cried out, "I'm a repented person." Some Muslims must be careful who they vowed for, for religion's sake. If we don't collectively condemn religious extremism and terrorism, it will consume the entire north. Boko Haram targeted more mosques than churches.”

Godwin Robinson asks:

“Such thinking won’t come from a normal public servant. How deeply intolerant this guy sounds? You already want to draw blood in a democracy for fellow citizens speaking their minds?”

Recall that a civil society group convened by Adeyanju, Concerned Nigerians, on Monday, April 19 urged the Department of State Security, DSS, to recommend the sacking of Pantami to President Muhammadu Buhari.
