Young Nigerian Lady Reveals How She Landed Her 1st Job at 17 without CV or Interview, Many React

A young Nigerian lady identified as Taiwo Babatunde has taken to social media to disclose how she landed her first job at the age of 17 without a CV or an interview.

According to the post on her LinkedIn page, the lady said she just finished writing WAEC, NECO, JAMB and Post Utme when she was given a job offer.

In her words:

"One day, I strolled into a reputable cyber cáfe to go print out my Post Utme result. The attendant was dumbfounded at my result. He too opted in for UI but his score was average.
"Before I could turn back, the news of my score had gone round the hall. I was a Queen!"

The lady who scored 76/100 in the University of Ibadan Post Utme said the manager of the cyber cafe couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the result.

She quoted the manager as saying:

"Taiwo, but you said you never attended any tutorial class that you were serving as a housekeeper. So how did you get 76/100 in the almighty UI Post Utme. None of my students got as high as you. You must be a genius!"

Taiwo said the manager gave her a job instantly in compensation. The young lady quoted the manager as saying:

"Come and start lecturing the Arts students in my private tutorial. How much is your pay?"

Taiwo, who is in her third year at the University of Ibadan, said handling people's work has become so easy for her, adding that humans must grow to attract the opportunity they are looking for.

Speaking with Legit.ng, the young lady said she has landed more gigs after the teaching job.

In her words:

"I got a blog management gig via Facebook. Also, I got recruited as the content creator and copywriter for one of the most reputable Marketing Agencies you can rely on in Nigeria, Mydigitalhandle, whose CEO is Mr. Olasunkunmi Ademilusi."

Contrary to some people's opinion, Taiwo said education isn't a scam. In her words:

"It is a scam when you don't take action with the knowledge you have (no matter how little). Stop complaining. Use what you have (skillset, mindset, and toolset) to get what you want (financial liberation)."

Reacting to Taiwo's post on LinkedIn, a user identified as Mariam Akanni said:

Taiwo is currently studying Adult Education and combining it with communication and Language Arts. She intends to also study Law in the future.

In other news, a Nigerian lady finally saw her dream come to fruition. The lady identified as Moses Queen graduated with a first class honours in chemical engineering in 2018 and finished NYSC in 2020 but couldn't land a job.

In her LinkedIn post highlighting her journey to securing this job, she said her job-hunting experience wasn't a palatable one.

Queen narrated that she was told she was over qualified for some jobs she saw, while others told her she was under-qualified and lacking in experience for the big jobs.
