Samuel Chukwueze was in fine form for Villarreal in their 5-1 thrashing of Levante in La Liga.

Before the fixture away at Levante, the Nigerian international had only managed to score one goal in the current league season out of 24 matches.

However, the game against the Madrid based club proved to be different as the 21-year-old was the man-of-the-match in the week 31 fixture.

Unai Emery's side took the lead as Sergio Postigo put the ball into his own net which counted as an own goal in the ninth minute.

Gerard Moreno doubled the advantage in the 13th minute with an individual piece of skill and made the finish easy to make it 2-0.

Mickael Malsa got Levante back into the game after taking advantage of a defensive blunder to make it 2-1 in the 21st minute.

Super Eagles winger Chukwu got his name on the scoresheet in the 23rd minute as he was at the right place to score from a Paco Alcacer's assist.

Levante were licking their wounds as Ruben Vezo scored another own goal to give Villarreal a 4-1 lead in the 72nd minute.

Chukwueze wrapped up a five star performance on the night with another goal after latching on to Daniel Parejo's through ball to make it 5-1 in the 75th minute.

The win took the Yellow Submarines to fifth on the log after Real Betis played a 2-2 draw with Valencia.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Kelechi Iheanacho's goal shot Leicester City into the FA Cup finals following their 1-0 win over Southampton at the Wembley Stadium.

The Nigerian international continued his impressive scoring form for the Foxes as grabbed the only goal of the game in the second half.

It was a cagey affair at England's national stadium as chances were few and far between both sides in the opening 45 minutes.
