Super Eagles striker scores 29th league goal of the season with top European club

Paul Onuachu was on the losing side as Genk surrendered a 2-0 lead to suffer a 3-2 loss to Royal Antwerp in a Belgian league match played this weekend.

However, the Nigerian international was on target twice for his team but Antwerp fought back and scored three goals in the remaining 23 minutes of the game.

The 26-year-old who was on 27 league goals before the game raised the bar higher as he put the Blue and White ahead in the 22nd minute to make it 1-0.

Antwerp extended their lead over Genk on the Jupiler League table to four points but remain behind Anderletch who are on 70 points.

On the other hand, Onuachu now has 29 league goals on his name and 30 in all competitions this season.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Paul Onuachu made the headlines again for Genk following their comprehensive 4-0 win over St.Truiden, Goal.

The Nigerian international was among the scorers as he helped the Blue and White extend their seven games unbeaten run in the Jupiler League.

Theo Bongonda set the ball rolling for Peter Maes’ men in the 21st minute and four minutes later Bryan Heynen doubled the advantage.

Kristian Thorstvedt made it 3-0 but Yuma Suzuki had the opportunity to reduce the deficit for St.Truiden but missed a penalty four minutes before the interval.
