Chelsea qualified into the finals of the FA cup for the second season in a row following a narrow 1-0 win over Man City.

The only goal of the match was scored in the second half from Moroccan forward Hakim Ziyech.

The Blues were on the ascendancy in the first half and they looked at the more likely team to find the back of the net.

Chelsea thought they had taken the lead when Ziyechi tapped-in a cross from Timo Werner but the referee's assistant raised the offside flag after the goal was scored.

It was Ben Chilwell's turn to come close to scoring as he volleyed into side netting from a Reece James' cross from the right.

Anther cross from Chilwell went agonizingly wide after taking a deflection off a City defender.

The Blues continued from where they stopped in the second half as Ziyech finally put them in the lead in the 55th minute.

Werner made a darting run down the left from a Mason Mount's through ball as he found Ziyech in the middle, and the Moroccan put the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

Two minutes later it should have been 2-0, Ziyech capitalized on a poor clearance from City's defence but Zack Steffen came off line at the right time to save the shot.

City had a shot on target from Rodri but the ball took a deflection to make the save easy for Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Christian Pulisic's goal in the 90th minute was also called off for an offside after Kai Havertz's header played the American through on goal. The final whistle was blown as Chelsea made it through to the finals.

The Citizens hopes of winning a quadruple were dashed as Pep Guardiola and his men will need to focus on the Premier League, Champions League and the Carabao Cup.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Chelsea vs FC Porto second leg meeting on Tuesday, April 13, was not short of drama, with Thomas Tuchel clashing with his counterpart, Sergio Conceicao, moments after the Blues progressed to the Champions League semis.

The west Londoners stunned the Portuguese giants 2-1 on goal aggregate to confirm their place in the last four of the European competition.

Unlike their sublime performance that saw them beat Porto 2-0, Chelsea staged a somewhat lacklustre performance in the return leg, with their visitors eventually punishing them at the death.
