Stop distracting them: JAMB Registrar Bans Parents From UTME Venues
- Parents have been asked to stop following their children to JAMB centres
- This order was issued by the registrar of the board, Prof Ishaq Oloyede
- According to him, most of these parents are distracting the students

Following their disruptive actions, parents and guardians have been asked not to be allowed in the registration hall of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The order was issue by the registrar of the board, Prof Ishaq Oloyede.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by JAMB’s spokesman in Ilorin Office, Hassan Lawal.
The decision was said to have been made after inspecting some of the registration centres in Kwara, which were overcrowded.

The statement read:
“The registrar said it has been discovered that the parents/guardians are always a distraction to both candidates and the centres and at the same time, congesting the halls by not following the COVID – 19 protocols,” Oloyede was quoted as saying."
Meanwhile, Oloyede called on parents not to hastily fast-track their wards education.
He said:
“For example, a 14 or 15-year-old is not matured enough to undergo the process of registration and university pressure and are vulnerable to exploitation by scammers out there."
In another report, recall that Legit.ng had reported that Oloyede said hackers gained access to the agency's intranet site and altered the profiles of the ad hoc staff.
The JAMB boss made this know on Tuesday, April 13, while addressing newsmen in Abuja., The Cable reported.
Legit.ng gathered that Oloyede said over N10 million which was set aside as allowance for the ad hoc staff was diverted by the hackers.

Also, Legit.ng reported that JAMB made slight changes in the registration processes for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE).
The examination body disclosed that the use of email is no longer required for UTME and DE registration
JAMB registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, made the disclosure when speaking with journalists on Tuesday evening, April 13.
