Sergio Aguero will not be available for Manchester City's important FA Cup semi final clash against Chelsea at Wembley, Pep Guardiola confirms, Football London.

The 31-year-old is yet to recover from a nagging injury during City's 2-0 win over Leicester City after just playing for an hour.

The Argentine striker did not feature in both legs of the Champions League quarter-final clash with Borussia Dortmund in the past two weeks.

However, the Citizens qualified in a 4-2 aggregate scoreline, winning both legs by 2-1 and will now take on Paris Saint-Germain in the semi final.

City suffered a shock defeat to Leeds United in their last Premier League game at the Etihad as Aguero looked on from the stands.

Speaking ahead of the FA Cup tie with Chelsea, Guardiola confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the Argentina international would not be ready for the huge clash against Thomas Tuchel's side

"[Sergio] is not fit yet," Guardiola told reporters. "[Everyone else] is OK. Tired, but in a good mood."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Pep Guardiola has said he will not stand in the way of Sergio Aguero should the striker opt to join Man City Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Aguero is set to depart the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season when his deal with City expires.

Man City announced the development at the end of March, confirming the 32-year-old is all but set to leave after a trophy-laden career with them spanning to close to a decade.

Legit.ng had also reported that Manchester City are through to the semifinals of the Champions League after an emphatic 2-1 comeback win against German giants Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, April 14.

Pep Guardola’s men were made to work hard as they were subjected to a mild scare after Dortmund briefly tilted the tie in their favour after snatching the lead on the night.

City went into the game holding a 2-1 lead which was snatched away when Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham curled in an effort early on.
