Former Liverpool forward Djibril Cisse has joined American fourth-tier side Panathinaikos Chicago at the age of 39.

Since he left Swiss division three club Yverdon Sports, the Frenchman has been out of club.

However, the American outfit said that the player has joined them.

The club made the announcement via their twitter handle when they captioned a picture of Cisse "Once Green, Always Green."

The striker had featured for the club between 2009 and 2011 after he left French Ligue 1 side Marseille, scoring a staggering 47 goals in just 61 games during his time with the Greeks.

Panathinaikos Chicago is the 13th club of the nomadic striker's career. But Cisse's talents don't end on the football pitch.

He has always been a lover of clothes and has long taken an interest in the world's biggest designers. And since playing in the Premier League, the 38-year-old has turned to modelling.

Cisse hit the catwalk in the final show of Jean-Paul Gaultier in the French capital last year.
