Sergio Aguero is bound to leave Man City after ten years at the Etihad and Barcelona have stepped up their interest in the Argentine forward, The Sun.

The 32-year-old will become a free agent at the end of the current season and a number of clubs have been lurking to get him sign on the dotted lines.

Barca made their interest known during the January transfer window before the legendary Premier League striker would announce his departed a few months later.

Ronald Koeman will battle other top English clubs for the signature of Aguero including Chelsea Arsenal and Juventus.

The Italian champions have made a mouth watering £165,000-a-week offer for the former Atletico Madrid striker for the next two years.

According to Spanish news media outlet Sport, Barcelona want to use the influence of Aguero's long time pal Lionel Messi to lure him to the Camp Nou.

And in return persuade the club's captain not to leave in the opposite direction at the end of the current campaign.

The Catalan giants are unlikely to match Juve's offer but reports claim that Aguero is open to the idea of returning to Spain after previously spending five years with Atletico.

It is understood that Aguero's arrival at the Camp Nou will not hinder the club from signing either Dortmund's Erling Haaland or Laurtaro Martinez from Inter Milan.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Pep Guardiola has said he will not stand in the way of Sergio Aguero should the striker opt to join Man City Premier League rivals.

Aguero is set to depart the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season when his deal with City expires.

Man City announced the development at the end of March, confirming the 32-year-old is all but set to leave after a trophy-laden career with them spanning to close to a decade.
