Ikhide R. Ikheloa shared photos of ex-military head of state Yakubu Gowon meeting with the Queen of England and her late husband, Prince Philip.

In one of the photos, Gowon could be seen riding with Queen Elizabeth II to Buckingham Palace during an official visit to London, United Kingdom, on June 12, 1973.

Another photo shows the former military head of state, his wife, the Queen and her late husband.

Sharing the photos, Ikheloa wrote:

"Once upon a time..."

Taking to the comment section to comment on the images, a tweep with the handle @Noodameg said the photos were taken when "Nigeria was still a nation".

In her words:

"When Nigeria was a nation."

@_TheNewMind suggested that the United Kingdom would do anything for Nigeria's human and natural resources.

He wrote:

"Anything for our human and natural resources."

@unbeardhead said the United Kingdom no longer respects Nigeria.

In his words:

In other news, ahead of the 2023 presidential election, a former military head of state, General Yakubu Gowon (rtd), has called for the zoning and rotation of the presidency among the six geo-political zones of the country.
