Spanish giants Barcelona are reportedly prepared to offer 18-year-old Pedri an improved deal just to fend-off moves by Premier League side Liverpool to sign Pedri.

It was gathered that the Catalan giants are also prepared to etch a staggering £350million release clause on the player’s contract ahead of the summer transfer window.

UK outlet SunSport are claiming that Barcelona are now forced to offer the attacking midfielder a better contract as he has made a major impact for Barca this season.

So far this campaign, Pedri has featured in 44 matches for the La Liga side in all competitions, with him providing six assists.

Since forcing his way into the Barcelona first team from Las Palmas, Pedri has become a regular starter under Ronald Koeman and Liverpool are already monitoring his situation.

But Barca are determined to build their future around the youngster and have reportedly made a huge contract offer to keep him at the Nou Camp.

His current deal has another year remaining, with the option of an extra two years.

But Barca have made a bumper offer, with a massive release clause in a bid to hold on to prized-asset Pedri.

Meanwhile, president of La Liga Javier Tebas has urged embattled Barcelona captain Lionel Messi to remain at the Catalan club beyond this season.

Tebas was among those that prevented the Argentine from leaving Spain last season after the superstar threatened he wanted to move.

Messi was forced to rescind his decision after La Liga and Barcelona chiefs cited a clause in his contract - and with the player’s contract coming to an end, Tebas advised him to remain.

Messi has been strongly linked with transfers to Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain in recent months, although Joan Laporta's return as Barca president has led many to believe he could now see out the rest of his career at the Camp Nou.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester United may have been given the green light to make a move for Barcelona forward Ousman Dembele this summer.

The Frenchman was part of the Catalan team that got beaten by Real Madrid at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano earlier this weekend.

Although he still has one year left on his current deal with the Nou Camp outfit, Dembele is not sure of his future at the club.
