Aguero is set to depart the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season when his deal with City expires.

Man City announced the development at the end of March, confirming the 32-year-old is all but set to leave after a trophy-laden career with them spanning to close to a decade.

The announcement sparked interest from a number of top clubs, including Chelsea and La Liga giants Barcelona.

Metro UK reports the Blues are closely monitoring Aguero's situation, with the striker said to be keen to remain in England.

And despite the likelihood Thomas Tuchel could snap him up, Guardiola has said the Argentine's loyalty to Man City should be rewarded with everyone at the club allowing him to pick his next destination.

"The best for him, we wish – all of us. Find the best for Sergio for the last years in his career, for sure. We'll be delighted with the decision he takes, the best for him and his family and his career," he said.
"My preference is his preference. His preference is my preference. The best for him is the best for us," he added.

Aguero has enjoyed an arguably successful career with The Citizens since joining them from Atletico Madrid in 2011.

During his spell at Etihad, he has won 13 titles, including four Premier League trophies.

With City having a 14-point cushion over second-placed Man United on the EPL charts, he is already sure to pick his fifth league medal with the club.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Premier League club Manchester City are interested in signing Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku as a replacement for Sergio Aguero who is expected to depart at the end of the season

City boss Pep Guardiola has said it is highly likely the club will buy another highly-rated striker to replace Sergio Aguero in the summer.
