Premier League club Arsenal are set to promote Folarin Balogun to the senior team and then hand him a contract this summer, according to reports cited in Daily Star.

The Gunners are desperate in bolstering their squad for the coming season and will not allow Balogun who has scored 11 goals 23 matches this season to leave.

He already featured in the Europa League for the north London outfit and Italian giants Juventus are already weighing up their options of landing the star.

With Cristiano Ronaldo already in the twilight of his career, Folarin Balogun is being considered as a perfect replacement for the Portuguese sensation by Juve chiefs.

While players such as Wilfried Zaha have been linked with moves to north London, one player who was heading out the door was academy starlet Folarin Balogun.

Juventus saw him as a “golden opportunity” to bring in a forward that will “relieve” Ronaldo of his duties upfront.

Arteta, though, kept confidence that he could keep Balogun at the Emirates Stadium.

He said in March:

“I think I am pretty positive about it and every time I spoke to him, he mentions the same thing, that he’s determined to stay here, that he wants to stay here.
“We have had some really positive conversations with his agent as well and Edu is in charge of that."

Meanwhile, Tomas Holes' 90+4 minute header was all Slavia Prague needed to deny Arsenal a victory in the first leg of their Europa League clash at the Emirates Stadium which ended 1-1.

The 28-year-old defender powered home an unstoppable header in the late minutes of the added time to ensure his side avoided defeat.

His goal puts the Czech football outfit at an advantage ahead of the second on Thursday, April 15 as they both battle for one semifinal spot.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Real Madrid are reportedly planning to offload six players to raise funds for Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe's signings this summer.

Los Blancos have been linked with the two unstoppable forwards in the past few months owing to their performances for their respective clubs.

Although Zinedine Zidane is still in charge of the Spanish club, his future is, however, uncertain at the Santiago Bernabeu outfit.
