Embattled Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea comes second on the shortlist with just £10,000 short of De Bruyne's take home as reported by SunSport.

The Spaniard is tied to the Red Devils until the summer of 2023 but the Old Trafford might be planning to offload him at the end of this season to reduce their wage bill.

De Gea currently earns £375k on a weekly basis at his present club - the highest earner at United but his number one status is threatened by the emergence of Dean Henderson.

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the most paid stars in the English topflight as he comes third on the list with a staggering £350k deal a week.

His deal with the Gunners will not expire until 2023 and he has been linked with a few clubs in top European leagues.
