Jurgen Klopp who is the gaffer of reigning Premier League champions Liverpool has blamed the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano stadium for his side's defeat against Real Madrid in Spain.

Liverpool who are known to be an excellent side in the Champions League suffered a 3-1 defeat in the first leg of their quarterfinal clash against the Spanish champions.

As things stand presently in the Premier League, Liverpool can no longer defend their title as Manchester City are favorites to be crowned champions.

But they are also on leg out of the Champions League following their defeat against Real Madrid although Mohamed Salah's away goal gave them hope.

Jurgen Klopp and his men will only need to beat Real Madrid 2-0 at Anfield for them to get qualification into the semifinal.

The 53-year-old explained that his players will have the chance the to flow their game properly when they tackle Los Blancos in the return leg of the Champions League.

"It was strange tonight because of the stadium and the situation but Anfield is at least a proper stadium and that will be good for us."

Liverpool are known for their comeback in the Champions League considering how they have beaten the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan years back.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane discountenanced Jurgen Klopp's claims that the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano is not a proper stadium, adding that they are proud to play there.

The facility is often used for training sessions by the senior team while Real Madrid Castilla (B team) play their games on the pitch.
