Premier League club Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku as a replacement for Sergio Aguero who is expected to depart at the end of the season, SunSport reports.

City boss Pep Guardiola has said it is highly likely the club will buy another highly-rated striker to replace Sergio Aguero in the summer.

The Argentine has confirmed his exit from the Etihad Stadium at the end of this season - putting an end to his 10-year reign at the club.

And now they are looking at bringing in former Manchester United striker Lukaku who has been in blistering form this season.

City are on the lookout for a striker and have considered Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland as well.

The Citizens pipped Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in their Champions League quarter-final first-leg and Guardiola has openly talked about the club breaking the bank to sign Haaland.

The highest amount City have ever spent on a player was the £62million in acquiring Portuguese centre-back Ruben Dias from Benfica last summer.

But Lukaku seems to be inching closer as his performances have attracted their interest as well as that of Barcelona.

The Premier League leaders are described as having made tentative contact with Inter to gauge how much a move would cost.

It is reported that a fee of around £110million could be enough as the Italian club faces up to a financial crisis.

The striker has hit 26 goals in 35 games this season, including the winner at Bologna on Saturday to open up an eight-point gap atop Serie A.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea are favourites to sign Sergio Aguero who recently announced he will be departing Man City after ten years at the Etihad.

Barcelona have been lined up to sign the Argentine scoring legend as well as Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Reports claim that the Blues who failed to sign the petite striker from Atletico Madrid back in 2011 are in prime position to do so ten years after.

On the other hand, the former Independiente forward may not want to disrespect City by playing for another Premier League side.
