Ultimatum: APC asks Amaechi, Abe to Reconcile Within Three Months

- If they refuse to reconcile soon, there might be dire consequences, APC has told Ameachi and Abe

- In fact, the party specifically asked them to settle their differences within three months

- Meanwhile, the party urged the minister of transportation to allow for internal democracy

Extreme measures might be taken against minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and Senator Magnus Abe if they refuse to settle their differences in Rivers state.

This followed the three-month ultimatum issued by the All Progressives Congress in Ahoada local government area of the state.

The party said the duo should mend fences or face sanctions after they rose from an extra-ordinary meeting of the party held in the local government.

This was disclosed by the leader of the group, Ibiso Nwuche.

According to him, the party resulted to this after APC leadership at the state level failed to resolve the crisis rocking the party.

He said:

“Having not had any benefit from the party due to failed leadership from the state and the grassroots levels in Ahoada East, we resolved and gave them (Amaechi and Abe), till July this year to reconcile themselves at the top and move the party forward before we take next action."

Going further, he dismissed Amaechi's directive that some part of the state to start making preparation to produce the next APC governorship candidate to take over power in 2023 .

He said this is Amaechi's personal opinion and does not reflect the general consensus in the party.

Meanwhile, he called on Amaechi to allow internal democracy thrive.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that suspected kidnappers have abducted Hyacinth Nwiye who serves as APC caretaker committee chairman in Khana local government area of Rivers state.

The spokesperson for the party, Ogbonna Nwuke, disclosed that Nwiye was abducted on Sunday night, April 4, from his residence in the Khana area

The APC blamed Nwiye's abduction on the inability of the Rivers state government to guarantee appropriate security protection at the grassroots.

In another report, Amaechi raised allegations against some unnamed Nigerians concerning insecurity.

According to the former Rivers state governor, these people are making money from the insecurity situation in the country. Amaechi disclosed this in an interview.

He also disclosed that insecurity comes in different forms and should not only be attributed to armed robbery banditry, kidnapping and others forms of high crimes.
