Suspected bandits strike again, kill Miyetti Allah leaders in Nasarawa

- Miyetti Allah lost two of its chairmen on Friday night to bandits attack in Nasarawa state

- Alhaji Mohammed Hussain and Mohammed Umar were killed in Garaku, Kokona LGA

- According to the police command in the state, their remains have been deposited at the mortuary as investigation commences

Suspected bandits have ended the lives of two chairmen of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association in Nasarawa state.

The Nation learnt that the deceased, Alhaji Mohammed Hussain and his counterpart in Toto local government area, Mohammed Umar, were murdered during an attack on Friday night, April 2, in Garaku, Kokona LGA.

The Nasarawa police public relations officer, ASP Ramham Nansel said the command got information about the unfortunate attack at about 7pm.

According to him, upon receipt of the information, officers swiftly swung into action following orders from the commissioner of police, CP Bola Longe.

When they got to the scene, they found two corpses that were taken to the hospital and confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

The bodies have now been deposited at Anthony memorial Mortuary for post Mortem examination.

Police commissioner consoles families

Vanguard reported that the police commissioner has sent a condolence message to the families of the deceased.

Longe gave the assurance that the command will not rest until the culprits are caught and punished.

He also appealed to members of the public to volunteer useful information, which according to him, will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.

Former lawmaker reacts

A former Kaduna lawmaker, Shehu Sani reacted to the news which he condemned. According to him, no ethnic or religious group is safe from this common danger.
