Top Super Eagles Star Named Best Premier League Player for The Month of March

Kelechi Iheanacho has been named as the best Premier League player for the month of March thanks to his superb performances for Leicester City in all competitions.

Kelechi Iheanacho was in superb form for Leicester City in March however beat the likes of Harry Kane, Luke Shaw, Riyad Mahrez to win the prestigious award.

In March, Kelechi Iheanacho scored five goals for Leicester City who are currently occupying third position on the Premier League table.

According to the Premier League club, Kelechi Iheanacho explained that he is happy to have won the Premier League best player award and stated that will continue to do his best for the side.

"I’m so pleased and honoured to win this award. It’s great to be recognised, but I couldn’t have done it without the support of my team-mates and the manager.
"I’m really enjoying playing at the minute and hopefully I can push on and help the team to finish as high as possible this season."

Kelechi Iheanacho joined Leicester City from Manchester City in 2017 and the Nigerian has so far played 87 games for the Foxes netting 15 goals.

He will hope to continue his superb form on Saturday when Leicester City face his former club Manchester City on Saturday, March 3.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how a throw-back photo continued to make the rounds on social media showing new Super Eagles star Anayo Iwuala struggling to take a picture with Kelechi Iheanacho.

The Enyimba of Aba striker was called into the national team by coach Gernot Rohr, as a replacement for Almeria forward Sadiq Umar who could not make trip back home.

Umar who has been impressive for the Spanish side was not released by his club due to Covid-19 protocols.

His scintillating form earned him his first call-up to the senior national team, having previously starred for the West African’s U23 side.

Recall that the Super Eagles had played their previous AFCON qualifying matches in Asaba, the Delta State capital, a picture shows Anayo Iwuala struggling to take a picture with Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
